Review: The Happy Snack Company Chocolate Roasted Chickpeas

Whilst on the hunt for some random snacks to review, I came across The Happy Snack Company’s Chocolate Roasted Chickpeas. I’m always on the lookout for some snacks that can charge my batteries when I’m on the move, and these chickpeas might have been the answer, key word, might have…

What drew me towards them was that theystood out as an interesting snack that I hadn’t really thought about before, and I’ve been a vegetarian for a long time. So, when I picked them off the shelf and saw that it was vegan-friendly, dairy-free, gluten-free and nut-free, I thought I hit the jackpot. This sounds wild given it is something that clearly exists to fill the niche of chocolate-coated nuts, but for those with certain dietary requirements or allergies. I would definitely give it a try if you are looking for some snacks with special requirements.

The box comes with 5 20g packets inside it, which feels like a good amount for a snack, but I have been eating two bags at a time. So, I might need to get some more.

What Do Chocolate Roasted Chickpeas Taste Like?

I’m not very familiar with roasted chickpeas, but definitely see how they can be a good nut alternative. I do find they have much less flavour than most types of nuts, however. The chocolate coating has only a very slight chocolate flavour to it. I would describe the product as rather bland, but still satisfying to eat. And you know what? That’s exactly what I am looking for, something to keep the energy up and the calories down.

With a 3.5/5 Heath Star Rating, it is definitely better for you than the snacks it is replicating. If you are trying to lose weight, vegan, vegetarian or have dietary requirements, I recommend it. But if you’re looking for something super tasty, I’d stick to chocolate-coated nuts.
