Given the recent launch of this website, Chews It, this similarly named lolly display at my local Food Works stood out to me and I had to try it! I bought one of each flavour that they had for sale, and below is my running internal monologue as I try each for the first time.

A while ago, I read a lot of viral buzz about how Australians had been pronouncing the lollipop brand Chupa Chups incorrectly. In Australia, most people tend to pronounce them as “Chuppa Chupps”, but apparently the correct pronunciation is “Chewpa Chewp”, and I can’t help but assume this new line was introduced to teach us how to say their name correctly.

Chupa Chups New Incredible Chew Strawberry

This reminds me of the pink Starburst fruit chews, but perhaps a bit softer. I’ve not had one of those in years and thought they’d stopped making them. The centre of the Chupa Chups Incredible Chew Strawberry Flavour is soft and white. I couldn’t really tell if it was a different flavour or not, perhaps a lemonade centre.

Also with a white soft centre, this is perfect for those who like the Grape Hubba Bubba gum, but don’t want chewing gum in fact. When I first saw these at the shops, I thought it was Hubba Bubba chewing gum.

Chupa Chups New Incredible Chew Mango Jellydots

This is also really good. I tried this third as it has a different type of centre. A what appears to be little translucent chunks of gummy lolly. I was expecting it to be crunchy, but it was more lumpy than anything, with an inconsistent texture compared to the rest. Of the five flavours I saw available, this is the only one with a different filling.

Chupa Chups New Incredible Chew Cola

This tastes a lot like the cola bottle lollies, yet in a pastel lolly rather than a gummy lolly. I’m a big cola lolly fan, and not many brands are playing in this space, so this is one of the more interesting ones for me.

Chupa Chups New Incredible Chew Green Apple

Whilst there is nothing wrong with the Green Apple Chews, it is definitely the least interesting out of the flavours. It is soft-centred like most of the others. It is tastes like apple. It is fine.

Conclusion

This new chewy lolly range by Chupa Chups is quite good and I’d definitely buy them again and see if my kids like them. We ate them all at the office; however, so there’s none left for them.
