This is probably the cheapest and best value for money jerky product you can get in Australia. It is quite similar in taste and texture to Jack Link’s and is quite rubbery in texture. I’m quite certain that this is a processed meat product, with all the various flavours mixed into the meat itself.
When torn, there is very little muscle fibre compared to the high-end independent brands that I prefer. So I’d say it’s been processed heavily, and that’s why it’s cheap. It’s not made from quality cuts and dehydrated like the more gourmet brands.
The flavour itself is a little bland, just a simple sweet barbecue flavour. It’s certainly fine as an entry point into the world of beef jerky, or for those who find the proper stuff too expensive or hard to chew. I’d overall put this towards the bottom of the list of brands to try, and of course, being Woolworth’s Home Brand of jerky, one should keep expectations low.
