McDonald’s Australia is bringing back a dose of nostalgia with the launch of the McDonaldland Meal, available at participating restaurants from August 12, 2025. The limited-time offer celebrates the iconic McDonaldland characters and comes packed with food, fun, and collectible souvenirs that fans won’t want to miss.
What’s in the McDonaldland Meal
Each McDonaldland Meal comes with:
- A choice of Quarter Pounder, Big Mac with cheese, or Chicken McNuggets (available as a medium or large meal).
- Classic McDonald’s fries.
- The whimsical Mt. McDonaldland Shake is a pastel blue berry-flavoured shake topped with whipped cream and raspberry sprinkles. (I don’t really recommend this, though. I did not enjoy mine.)
- One collectible souvenir tin featuring a McDonaldland character, filled with themed postcards and stickers.
The shake is also available separately for those who simply want to try the new flavour.
The Collectibles: McDonaldland Souvenir Checklist
Each meal includes one of six limited-edition tins. Here’s the full set to collect:
- Ronald McDonald
- Grimace
- Birdie the Early Bird
- Hamburglar
- Mayor McCheese
- Fry Friends (Fry Kids)
Fans can tick off the list as they complete their collection, but with items available only while stocks last, the race is on to grab them all.
A Nostalgic Throwback
This is the first full McDonaldland-themed meal in more than 20 years, reviving the colourful cast of characters that shaped McDonald’s advertising in the 1970s and 1980s. I probably would have preferred actual toys, but the artwork on these is incredible. Alongside the souvenirs, McDonald’s is also rolling out a limited-edition collaboration with Pacsun (August 12), giving fans extra ways to celebrate.
Limited-Time Only
The McDonaldland Meal is available from 10:30 am daily at participating McDonald’s restaurants across Australia. With its mix of classic favourites, a fun new shake, and exclusive memorabilia, it’s set to be one of the most nostalgic fast-food launches of the year.
