Review: CC’s Four N Twenty Sausage Roll & Sauce Corn Chips

Corn chips are one of my favourite kinds of chips, and I’m always likely to try any weird and wonderful limited edition flavours by CC’s or Doritos. Whilst I’ve seen some highly unusual variants in the past, this one actually makes a bit of sense.

I found these CC’s Four N Twenty Sausage Roll & Sauce Corn Chips on clearance at my local 7-Eleven store, meaning I’m probably a bit late to the party on this, but as far as a special flavour found in a servo, this is fitting.

I’ve often had a hot pie or sausage roll for breakfast at my local 7-Eleven, and whilst meat pies are what Four N Twenty is best known for, that’s a flavour they’ve already done in the past, so I guess sausage rolls are the logical next flavour to collaborate on.

Overall, I’ve gotta say these are good. There is a slightly meaty flavour to it, something that feels at home, given I love nachos. Whilst I’m not sure how different sausage roll and meat pie flavours convert to corn chip flavouring, the major difference is likely that “sauce” is part of the flavouring this time. Meaning there’s a slightly tangy ketchup flavour to it, which works well. My initial thought was that it tasted like BBQ sauce, but I’m pretty sure that’s because of the sausage roll element.

I don’t actually eat tomato sauce or ketchup – preferring something more interesting or skipping it entirely, but I actually like tomato-flavoured chips, such as Samboy Atomic Tomato.

Overall, I’d definitely eat these again and think they’d taste good as nachos. Go get them before they’re gone!
